In Yun’nan Province tea is an important economic crops To carry out and practice the study of the tea plantation evaluation have great significance. That can optimize the allocation of local land-use layout, increase tea production, improve the quality and economic efficiency. In recent years, the land evaluation studies have had a great development in theory, methods, and applications. And GIS technology, computers and other advanced technology have been introduced into the land evaluation. Expert system technology is one of the hotspots of the field of artificial intelligence research. It has been widely applied to agriculture, biology and other fields, and there were some precedents for using expert system technology in the land evaluation studies. But the studies of integration of expert systems and GIS technology were rare, many ways, needs to be deepened. The paper carried out based on system learning theory, methods and techniques and mastered skills of land evaluation, GIS and expert system, and knowing the knowledge of the growth conditions of tea and tea garden conditions. Major contents of the thesis are:1) By using the C#language in Visual Studio2008platform and relying on powerful spatial analysis function for ArcGIS, in this thesis researched the design and realization of a tea plantation evaluation expert system;2) The thesis studied the acquisition and the representation of tea expert knowledge, and how to establish a knowledge base. The knowledge and experience of experts’was obtained artificially mainly through interviews with experts. Sorted out the collected knowledge and using the relational database Access to establish a base to store the tea plantations knowledges;3) Collectted, collated and classified the data based on the target of evaluation, and then created a spatial database of tea plantations with the ArcCatalog;4) Designed and exploited a tea garden suitability evaluation expert system, and did an empirical research of the tea plantation land suitability evaluation in Ning’er County.Thesis research achievements are mainly the following aspects:1)This paper used GIS and the expert system technology to develop a tea plantations evaluation expert system. That could improve the speed and accuracy of the evaluation of the tea land and promote scientific and technological progress of the land evaluation techniques;2) Combined with the suitable environmental conditions of tea growth, the paper studied the acquisition and representation of expert system knowledges. And established a tea garden knowledge base based on Access. The base could store the evaluation factors, evaluation methodsand processes;3) As data like land use status, roads or water systems used in evaluation were from datas of the second land investigation, this study used the database standard of the second land investigation to build the spatial database with ArcCatalog for storage the initial data and results data of evaluation;4) This study designed a data analysis module independent of the system evaluation function. Which could calculate the factor data simplify procedures, improve the flexibility of the program and facilitate the evaluation;5) Thesis designed and exploited an expert system which include man-machine interface, knowledge base management, inference engine and database. The paper did an empirical research in Ning’er County and the system was successfully used.In short, the paper introduced GIS and ES technology into the tea plantation land evaluation, designed and implemented a tea plantation evaluation expert system. That not only helps to enrich and improve the tea plantations evaluation techniques, but also helps for the promotion of scientific and modernization. It have very important significance to improve the precision and accuracy of the evaluation results.
