Characters used in names are the important parts of characters used in society. Therefore, itis significant to investigate and study the situation of characters used in names. For a number ofreasons, it is still a virgin field in studying the sociolinguistics of characters used in names inShenyang. The investigation the sociolinguistics of characters used in names in Shenyang canmake us understand the situation of characters used in names in Shenyang clearly and providetheoretical basis for the relevant standardized work. Therefore, the investigation has greatsignificance.This paper makes the statistical analysis of the investigation data systematically for thesituation of characters used in names in Shenyang under the relationship between the basicsituation of characters used in names in Shenyang and the psychology of social culture, theexisting problems of characters used in names in Shenyang and its standardization. This paperconsists of three chapters. The first chapter mainly describes and analyzes the basic situation ofcharacters used in names in Shenyang from the degree of the used words, rhetoric, pronunciation,gender differences. The second chapter mainly analyses and interprets the relationship betweencharacters used in names in Shenyang and the psychology of social culture. It analyses thepsychology of social culture about seeking advantages and avoiding disadvantages, pursuingelegance and avoiding vulgarity, and pursuing innovation and extraordinary. The third chaptermainly analyses and interprets the existing problems of characters used in names in Shenyangand the ways of standardization. It analyses the problems that rate of name repetition is highly,rarely used characters and polyphones are used, and structure forms excessively pursue novelty.Moreover, it puts forward specific standardization measures that standardization education ofnames is enforced timely and relative aspects of management system and supervisionmechanism are improved.
