The Characteristics Of Shenyang Place Names And Cultural Traceability From The Perspective Of Sociolinguistics

Geographic names are used to refer to the linguistic signs of geographical entities,a kind of proper noun,which contain certain cultural connotation and is a social linguistic phenomenon.Social linguistic researches are focused on the exploration of the relationship between language variations and social environments.Language is influenced by many factors such as society,culture,economy,politics and so on.In the perspective of diachronic and synchronic,this article using the theory and methods of social linguistics study the place names in Shenyang.First of all,linguistic features such as the speech sounds,word formation and meaning are analyzed.Secondly the culture origins of the naming,development and evolution of place names have been traced back,Finally the standardization of Shenyang place names has been discussed and the advice are also followed.The study is not only filled the blank in the research of current situation in this field,also promote social linguistic going further,deepen the understanding of Shenyang social and historic histories.It is extremely positive significance.
