Created in1923, Sonata for cello op.25No.3is one of Paul Hindemith’simportant works of his early times. It shows that his creation has tended to mature,laying a foundation for his later works.From several aspects, this thesis firstly gives an overview on the life of PaulHindemith, a composer and conductor, the general description of his works, hiscreative and artistic characteristics.Then, it proves the unique creating style in theHindemith musical language which is based on the classical music and the moderntechnique through analyzing the aspects of the music melody harmony, the musicalstructure,the thematic material,the melody features and the meticulous strength mark,on the basis of which, the works playing method is emphasized and annotated. Thereaders are expected to have a better understanding of Paul Hindemith’ s works viathe analysis in this paper.
