Research On Fostering The Practical Ability Pattern Of The Students Who Major In Sports Journalism Of BSU

To bring up a group of sports news workers, who are capable of high-quality and adapting to the society is the bounden duty of college sports news educators. Nowadays with the development of Sports News industry, the education of training back-up personnel for sports news industry is attracting more and more attentions. However, some of the sports news graduates are not competent in combat the environment while the society is lacking of the sports news workers urgently. Since the students have to work immediately after their graduation, we find that we must innovate the training models actively, explore the new ways and methods of the training. Only through this way can we cultivate the practical abilities of our students during their college studies and make our graduates better meet the needs of the media and the whole society. The research began with the research of the connotation of practical abilities, based on the 3-steps teaching practices (the first step is practice in school; the second step is professional practice in school; the third step is media journalism internship.) which were carried on from Grade 2003 to Grade 2006, trying to make a systematic study and discussion on how to enhance the professional practical abilities of the sports news students.The methods used in this research include the literature, the questionnaire, the interview and survey. The research studied the professional abilities of the sports news students practicing the 3-steps teaching methods from Grade 2003 to Grade 2006 of Beijing Sports University and found out that the practical ability of the sports news students had its own features, the teaching methods worked well in promoting the students’practical abilities, and the students had been well aware of the importance of improving their own practical abilities. Based on the research and cooperation of other sports universities, we built the training model of the practical abilities for sports news students, constituted by four parts:organization and management system, practical teaching system, teaching system and an integrated feedback system. It is obvious that the construction of the models of the practical abilities for the sports news students is a long-term and systematic exploration process. The implementation of the process should be put into the overall environment of the universities’educating models so as to build our distinguishing features in cultivating the students’ practical abilities and educating more capable sports news workers for the whole society.
