Along with the continuing development of science and technology, laser numericalcontrol cutting machine has been widely applied to aerospace, shipbuilding, automobileindustry, power equipment manufacturing and other fields. Laser numerical control cuttingmachine will have a bright future that cutting plates become more and more thick, thespeed of cutting be faster and faster and dimensional accuracy become more and moreprecision.In this paper, high-power numerical control laser cutting machine and largethree-dimensional numerical control laser cutting machine are discussed and the reliabilityof laser cutting machine is studied by means of the following several aspects.The anti-fatigue performance and life prediction of gear is checked. Firstly, gear lifeis preliminarily checked through the correlation formula of anti-fatigue design. Then thegear’s life is calculated further by the finite-element analysis software(PATRAN,NASTRAN) and fatigue software (FATIGUE) so as to ensure that gear meetsthe requirement that laser cutting machine operates stably and reliably.Each machining error factor of guide rail and slider,which causes the cutting error oflaser cutting machine, is analyzed and summarized, in order to get the theoretical formulaof guide-way’s oriented error. The influence of various error on guide-rail precision andreliability are discussed by VB programming, which obey Normal distribution. Meanwhile,the reasonable processing error level of guide rail and sliding block will be put forwardaccording to the goal precision of laser cutting manchine.With the ABAQUS software, the amount of elastic deformation of movable beams isquantitatively analyzed, which exists in the high-power thick plate numerical control lasercutting machine and three-dimensional numerical control laser cutting machine, andcaused by inertia force influence in the process of the movable beams of acceleration. Inorder to decrease the amount of elastic deformation, the movable beams are improved andkinematic accuracy of laser cutting machine is advanced. Accordingly, it achieves toimprove the reliability of laser cutting machine.
