The improvement and development of refined copper smelting technology have been obtained rapid development with the continuous increasing demand of refined copper in every country. Copper electrolytic process is an important means of hydrometallurgy refined copper. The quality of refined copper obtained by electrolytic process had great relationship with the straightness of copper negative plate. Therefore, in order to get high-quality refined copper it needs to get very straight copper negative plate.After the processes of embossing, straightening, punching and riveting, flipping plate and ranging plate, copper starting sheet became the electrolysis required copper negative plate. In these processes, straightening is the only step to ensure copper negative plate a good flatness. Straightening process can be divided into two parts, which are rough straightening and precise straightening. In the process of precise straightening, the straightening program with small deformation is used in the entire device in order to cause copper starting sheet reverse bending decrement. The degree of reverse bending is directly dependent on the underdraught value of precise straightening roller which has a close relationship with the parameters, such as the roll pitch and roll diameter of precise straightening roller. So it has important significance to study the various parameters of precise straightening device for obtaining high-purity refined copper.The subject is from a pre-research project of an enterprise, and the project’s name is "analysis of straightening mechanism and parameters research on the roller leveler of copper negative plate". In this paper, the deformation situation of copper starting sheet and the mechanical characteristics of the elastoplastic deformation were analyzed through studying the straightening mechanism of roller leveler, and the relationship during the various curvatures were also studied. The allowable range of roll pitch of the precise straightening roller was calculated based on the bite condition and strength condition of copper starting sheet. The experience range of straightening speed was obtained by looking up relevant information. The straightening formula and the residual curvature ratio formula were programmed by using Maple software. According to the allowable residual curvature ratio in enterprise, the number of precise straightening roller was calculated by using Newton method.In order to analyze the effect of different roll pitch and straightening speed on precise straightening, four different sets of roll pitch in this paper were selected in the permitted range, and the corresponding roller diameters and the underdraught values of the upper precise straightening roller were calculated. Then these data obtained by the above were matched with three different groups of straightening speed, and these twelve kinds of data combinations were input to ANSYS/LS-DYNA finite element simulation software. The nonlinear problems in precise straightening process, can be solved by using ANSYS/LS-DYNA. The final precise straightening residual rate and the Y direction deformation of copper starting sheet were listed under the function of the different matching parameters. Then the optimal roll pitch and straightening speed were selected by comparing and analyzing.In this paper, the simulation and analysis were done by using ANSYS/LS-DYNA, and the most reasonable matching parameters were selected in order to provide reference for enterprises to improve the performance of the roller leveler. So the contents of this paper have some practical significance.
