With the widespread application of spinning technology in the manufacturing ofproducts in military weapons,specific civil areas and civilian industry,the demand forspinning machine increases and its function and performance index need to be improvedconstantly. The problems of electric circuit aging, low automation, precision andproductivity exist obviously in China. Whereas,the spinning machines produced abroad aretoo expensive. Therefore,it is very important to develop our own control system forspinning machine.This paper provides a detailed analysis to control system for double-roller CNCspinning machine based on lathe SY20-1500. Hardware and software platform aredetermined based on the deep analysis to the control requirement. The architecture of opencontrol system which based on Siemens industrial control computer is used for humanmachine interface and other no real time tasks and motion controller IMAC400is used forservo control and logic control etc.The theoretic analytical and study calculates of synchronization control technology andmandrel protection function are main parts of this paper. The purpose of synchronizationcontrol technology is to improve the precision of products. Two kinds of synchronizationcontrol system are compared,mathematical model is established for the synchronizationcontrol system and analyzed with Simulink. Factors affecting the delay of the slave axis arestudied and feedforward controller is designed to overcome the delay. The purpose ofmandrel protection function is to ensure the safety of mandrel and staff. Factors affectingthe safety of spinning machine in the spinning process are analyzed, a concept of mandrelprotection curve is put forward to reduce safety potential danger and an algorithm for thegeneration of mandrel protection curve is designed. The problem of redundancy points isanalyzed and an algorithm for rejecting redundant points is designed after the generationalgorithm of mandrel protection curve. Multi-passes are scheme for complex spinningproduct to verify the accuracy of the two algorithm. This paper also introduces implementation method of several special control functions.On-line adjusting function of handwheel is used for real-time adjustment position of certainaxis. The purpose of constant linear velocity of spindle method is to improve productsurface quality. Intermittent processing function is used for suspension without affecting theproduct in-process.The control system researched in this paper has been applied in practice which haveimproved the accuracy and efficiency,reduced development cost and shorten product cycles.The maximum pressure reaches30t and the efficiency improves30%. The research ofcontrol system for double-roller CNC spinning machine in this paper can provide someuseful guidance for design of domestic spinning machine.
