On the basis of a continuous annealing line for silicon steel of Tonggang Cold Roll Co. Ltd., the thesis studied the coiling tension control system, and made some research and development works. The main points are as follow:1. The most important problem of tension control is that to realize the real time coiling tension control accurately, effectively, and smoothly. The feasible method is based on the speed controlling of the strip. By study of the dynamic equations of speed and tension, it has been cleared that the dynamic relation between speed and tension of the strip is a inertia element rather than a integral element as we think usually. This conclusion sustains the theory basis of the indirect tension controller.2. By analysis of the coiling control system, a mathematic model of speed controller for the coiler driving system has been constructed. On the basis of this model, the problems of dynamic torque compensation and tension fluctuating during the tension founding period have been studied and solved.3. Because the coiling tension control system is a time-varying system, speed controller of which must be a auto-adapted gain controller, and the gain would be the function of the real-time coil diameter. By study of the strip runing rules and the principle of strip-flowing theory, a calculating model of coil real-time diameter has been achieved. By the calculating model, a stabile and exact diameter data will be provided.4. The coil diameter algorithm and T400technology board of Siemens have been used in the continuous annealing line for silicon steel of Tonggang. And it has been proved that the coil diameter algorithm is validity.
