Hot rolling coiler is a very important equipment in hot rolling production line, its working performance mainly depends on tension control effect. Tension control directly affects the quality of the final products of steel coils, to ensure the control system has good performance, the key is to improve tension control system performance, maintain constant tension and avoid tension fluctuate.At first, this paper analyzed crimping control methods in the crimping progress, computing method of inertia moment and rolling diameter which are two important factors affecting the accuracy of tension calculation. With analysis of the winding tension system based on constant linear speed, the mathematic model of the win-ding system is constructed through researching the asynchronous motor decoupling model on the rotor flux oriented vector control and setting the controller parameter by engineering design method of controller for good regulation performance. Researching and discussing the fuzzy adaptive PID control algorithm in the application of tension control system on the basis of in-depth analysis in the coiler tension control system, in combination with the parameter time-varying rule of the coiling tension control system., This paper introduces the typical PID control algorithm and fuzzy control elementary theory knowledge respectively, through combine the advantages of both and puts forward the fuzzy adaptive PID control strategy that using for the indirect tension control. In addition, fuzzy PID control algorithm was programmed on TDC platform.Secondly, the purpose of this paper is to build a semi-physical simulation system and do the simulation research for strip coiling tension control through the hardware-in-the-loop simulation system. Advantech industrial computer will be used the platform a simulation model of winding drive motor in the hardware-in-the-loop simulation system. The coiling drive motor simulation model will be completed by Visual Studio C# and MATLAB. This system regard Siemens SIMATIC TDC device as the control core, using the indirect method of winding drive motor control simulation model, implementation of strip coiling tension control. In addition, this article develops the monitoring system of upper human-computer interaction based on the .NET environment, which can realize the real-time monitoring of running status of winding control system.Finally, with the help of hardware-in-the-loop simulation system, the typical PID control and fuzzy adaptive PID tension control system are emulated and analyzed. Simulation results confirm that tension control system based on the constant linear velocity with the fuzzy adaptive PID instead of the conventional PID have a better performance, which eliminates the impact of the system parameter change on the system performance better.
