| Objective:This subject aims to investigate the risk factors of aggravating acne, analyze the correlations between the severity of acne and different types of TCM syndromes of acne, and provide theoretical guidance to the prevention and clinical treatment for acne.Method:The doctors sent out the unified case report forms to survey140acne patients from June2012to March2013in the dermatology of Xi Yuan Hospital. The items of the case report forms include:age, sex, family history, profession, duration of the acne, skin types, the type of TCM syndrome, score of the TCM syndrome, blush, halitosis, bloating, loose stool, dark urine, constipation, dysmenorrhea, staying up late, dark menstrual blood, etc. Statistical analysis was performed by using SPSS20.0package. Comparisons between groups were evaluated using chisquare test or rank sum test. Single factor logistic regression and multivariate logistic regression analyses were applied to investigate the possible role of several factors.Result:1. The results of single factor logistic regression analysis showed that the following3factors were related with the severity of acne:family history, bloating, staying up lateï¼›the results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed the following2factors were related with the severity of acne:family history and staying up late.2. There were significant differences between types of TCM syndromes and the severity of acne. There was no significant difference between syndromes of wind-heat in lung and dampness-heat in lung and stomach. The proportion of degree â… and degree â…¡ in group of wind-heat in lung was higher than that of phlegm-blood stasis; The proportion of degree â… and degree â…¡ in group of dampness-heat in lung and stomach was higher than that of phlegm-blood stasis.3. There were significant differences between scores of TCM syndromes and the severity of acne. Scores of degree â… and degree â…¡<Scores of degree â…¢<Scores IV.4. There was no significant difference between types of TCM syndromes and the severity of acne. Acne patients with syndromes of wind-heat in lung and dampness-heat in lung and stomach formed a large proportion in Groups of21~25years old and31~35years old; Acne patients with syndromes of dampness-heat in lung and stomach and phlegm-blood stasis formed a large proportion in Groups of26~30years old and>35years old.5. There was no significant difference between age and the severity of acne. Acne patients of21~25years old accounted for the largest proportion, followed by26-30years old,15-20years old,31~35years old and>35years old.6. There were significant differences between duration of acne and the severity of acne. The severities of acne patients with different courses were not exactly the same. Acne patients with3.0~6.9years course accounted for the largest proportion, followed by Group <3. Oyears, Group7.0~10.9years, and Group>10.9years. Acne patients of degree I, degree â…¡ and degree â…¢ formed a large proportion in Group<3. Oyears; acne patients of degree â…¡ and degree â…¢ formed a large proportion in Group3.0~6.9years,7.0~10.9years and>10.9years.7. There was no significant difference between skin types and the severity of acne. Acne patients of degree â…¡ and degree â…¢ formed a large proportion in dry skin, mixed skin and neutral skin; Acne patients of degree I, degree â…¡ and degree III formed a large proportion in oily skin; Acne patients of degree â…¡, degree â…¢ and degree â…£ formed a large proportion in sensitive skin. Conclusions:The results of single factor logistic regression analysis showed that the severity of acne was correlated with family history, bloating, staying up late; the results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the severity of acne is correlated with family history and staying up late; The severity of acne was more serious in group of phlegm-blood stasis; and the TCM syndromes were more serious in Acne patients of degree III and degree IV compared with that of degree I and degree â…¡. |
