Studies On Antitumorous Activity And Chemical Constituents Of Vernonia Anthelmintic Willd.

Vernonia Anthelmintica Willd., as one specie of Vemonia genus of Compositae family, distributes mainly in the region of Indian, Pakistan and xinjiang province of china. It is recorded in People′Republic of China Medical Department Drugs Standard-Uygur medicine fascicle, and it is called " kalizili " in Uygur. Nature fruits is used as medicine. It had activity against vitiligo. The literature retrieval indicated that Vernonia Anthelmintica Will& has some antitumorous activities.Butin, butein, 5, 6, 7, 4′-tetrahydroxyflavone, 5, 7, 3′, 4′- tetrahydroxyflavanone, luteolin, isorhamnetin, were isolated from Vernonia Anthelmintica Will& by means of HSCCC, open sephadex gel column chromatography, and open silica gel column chromatography. Their structures were determined by spectra methods.By bioactive screened method, we also studied on the antitumorous activity of extracts and components of Vernonia Anthelmintica Willd.. Biol. evaluation showed that chloroform part, acetone part, alcohol part had inhibition of proliferation of cell lines （BGC-823, HePG-2, B16, A375） in vitro. IC₅₀ is smaller than 20μg/ml. Butin and butein had inhibition of proliferation of cell lines （ B16, A375 ） in vitro. IC₅₀ is smaller than 10μg/ml.
