A Vocabulary Study Of Ying County Dialect

Ying County dialect is a dialect in Shanxi Province belonging to North dialect, is Jin dialect. It located between Da-Bao piece and Wutai piece of the North dialect, which location is very special.In this paper, under the guideline of the theory of Chinese dialects vocabulary comparison and the theory of characteristic phrases of dialects, We carried on more than4500terms of Ying County dialect vocabulary based on field survey. Through the comparison of Ying County dialect and mandarin words, we show the differences between them, which including the meaning and morphology; then through the comparison of Ying County dialect and dialect of the surrounding (Sanyin dialect, Huairen dialects, Hunyuan dialect, Fanshi dialect) words, we present the similarities and differences on the amount of syllable and the morpheme; last, extract the distinctive characteristics of Ying County dialect words, showing the personality of Ying County dialect vocabulary. Studies have shown that the most intimate relationship is Ying County dialect vocabulary and Sanyin dialect, and Ying County dialect should be classified Da-Bao piece of Jin dialect.
