A Phonetic Study Of Mandarin Dialect Island Within Min Dialect District In Fujian

Nanping dialect and Yangyu dialect are two mandarin dialect islands within Min dialect district in Fujian province.These two Mandarin dialect islands haven't attracted sufficient attention in the academic circle,and some issues haven't been thoroughly studied or even involved.Based on field works,the phonetic system and phonological features of Nanping dialect and Yangyu dialect are re-organized in this paper.Meanwhile,methods of historical comparison and synchronic comparison are applied on this basis to conduct systematic comparative research of Nanping dialect and Jianghuai Mandarin.Moreover,the evolution and innovation of Nanping dialect under the encompassment of Min dialect are organized,and relevant issues are pondered over and discussed again.Furthermore,a comparison is conducted among Nanping dialect,Yangyu dialect and surrounding dialects based on their nature as Mandarin dialect islands,and the transformation and development of Nanping dialect and Yangyu dialect under the connection with the surrounding dialects are explored through two perspectives,namely,pronunciation and vocabulary.
