George Gershwin(1898—1937) is one of the most representative and influentialcomposers. This is because he combines the jazz of extremely national style andpopular pop music in the United States and the serious music of Europeantradition together perfectly by using his extraordinary talents, which is hiscontribution. The study of Gershwin only stays in several famous works in domestic,such as the analysis and research of 《Rhapsody in Blue》、《Piano Concerto in Fmajor》、《An American in Paris》。However,people seldom anlyse and decompose his《Second Rhapsody》,even the appearance of the Transcriptions of《SecondRhapsody》is rare. This paper will fill in the blanks of this fieldat home, Throughanalyzing the rhythm、tonality、music form and performing elements about his twoworks《Rhapsody in Blue》and《Second Rhapsody》 to refine the technique ofGershwin’creation of jazz. And the paper expounds and analyses the technique of howto combine classical music and jazz organically, thus it discusses how to developcreatively about our folk music.
