Prepositions are a kind of relatively closed category of words in Chinese language. The number of them is limited, but they play an important role in Chinese grammatical system. Because the usage of Chinese prepositions is complicated, prepositions have been the difficult study point of students from foreign countries and a knotty issue for them. Chinese preposition research is a difficult point in teaching Chinese as a second language. Although scholars have done lots of research about its category, belonging to, function and meaning, but relating to a single preposition there is some shortcomings. Especially the preposition zai(在) which used in the front of the sentence is a difficult point in the teaching Chinese as a second language,but the predecessors do not have an associated topic research which combined with the errors, so this paper takes it as the topic.Firstly, the article analyzes the preposition zai(在) which used in the front of the sentence. Writer study the paper, based on the ontology study, which choose from (Dynamic Corpus of HSK Composition>and the author’s questionnaire investigation, in order to sum up the mistakes of the students in using the preposition zai(在) which used in the front of the sentence. The preposition zai(在) which used in the front of the sentence error types are mainly concentrated in:preposition redundancy; preposition absence; preposition misplace. Then to find the causes of errors from the Chinese language and mother tongue transfer, the interference of the teachers, the learner’s own factors, the impact of the external environment. The teaching strategies of the preposition zai(在) which used in the front of the sentence format. On the basis of the ontology study and bias study, it proposed four teaching strategies combined the actual need of teaching Chinese as a second language, such as teaching the preposition zai(在) which used in the front of the sentence, focusing on comparison with the similar preposition.
