Profession transition of retired soldiers is a direction change of career and life from military to local place, including four stages:farewell to the soldiers’career, a new career chosen, preparation for the new career and being stable in it, which concerns individual adjustment of physical, psychological and social dimensionality. It is not one-time event, but a process of constant adjustment. Whether profession transition doing smoothly or not, it will directly affect the retired soldiers’adaption to the social life and the welfare level.This study based on a social work practice that through a group work intervention to promote retired soldiers’professional ability from individual adaptability, professional knowledge and skills, social capital and career identity of N program in G social work agency. This intervention lasted about three months. Results showed that group work helped to improve the adaptability of the retired soldiers. At the same time, it can improve the group members’social capital and professional identity, while in the aspect of growth on the professional knowledge and skills, there was no obvious changes.
