| BackgroundAcne vulgaris is one of the common skin diseases. It frequently occurs in pubertal individuals and is an inflammatory disease of the pilosebaceous follicles. At present, some medicines have been found effective in the treatment of ache vulgaris, but many drugs have many poisonous effects and reactions. In Chinese traditional medicine, there has no one kind of compound preparation that was proved effective and can be conveniently used to treat the acne vulgaris.ObjectiveTo study the clinical efficacy of the Qinggan Xiaocuo powder in treating acne vulgaris, and its pharmacodynamic and toxicological effect.Methods60 patients meeting the acne criteria were enrolled in the study and randomly divided into the Qinggan Xiaocuo powder-treated group and the control group. The Qinggan Xiaocuo powder-treated group consists of 30 patients who received Qinggan Xiaocuo powder. The control group consisting of 30 patients was treated with minocycline. Each course of treatment lasts four weeks. The acne lesions were assessed before and after treatment. At the end of study, the clinical therapeutic efficacy was evaluated and statistical analysis was performed.ResultThe Qinggan Xiaocuo powder has the therapeutic effect on the acne vulgaris of type Ganhuo Tanshi. The cure ratio was 60% in the Qinggan Xiaocuo powder-treated group and 40% in the control group. The total effective ratio was 93.33% and 73.33% respectively. Comparison between them with Ridit’s analysis showed significant difference(u=2.08, P＜0.05). Taking Qinggan Xiaocuo powder can inhibit the swelling auricle of small rat. We can draw a conclusion that Qinggan Xiaocuo powder has anti-inflammation action. The toxicology study does not show that Qinggan Xiaocuo powder has the obvious poisonous side effect.ConclusionQinggan Xiaocuo powder is safe and effective to treat the acne vulgaris... |
