Research In Shanxi Jinnan Inspired Regional Culture Background

The art of drum dancing, a crucial component of Chinese folk dance, is coherent with both ancient and modern times. It has built its bright future with the development of Chinese history. In Jinnan, one of the birthplaces of Chinese drum dancing culture, drum dancing has become local’s favorite art form. It is of key protection and popularization and has become the inexhaustible art resources for Shanxi folk dance. This paper adopted drum dancing of Shanxi Jinnan area as the core material, put it in the background of special region, historical period, folk-custom, and cultural, investigated and researched comprehensively and specifically, deeply analyzed the cultural connotation and national spirit underlying in drum dance. Under the background of development of modern society and the open and multicultural environment, this paper adopted an admirer’s view to rationally survey the value and meaning of Jinnan drum dancing, to arouse thoughts on the future development of Jinnan drum dancing. This paper is divided into four parts, their main contents are as follows:Chapter One:Introduction. First, it illustrated the reason and meaning of this thesis; second, reached the result of this study from the perspective of current related domestic studies; finally, it explained the researching method and innovation of this paper.Chapter Two:Drum dancing—the essence of Shanxi folk dancing. This chapter starts with the origin of drums, discusses the formation and evolution of drums in different social and historical development. At the same time, this chapter introduced the social function of drums in various periods in details and revealed the primary cause for the combination of drum and dancing. Thus, the perspective goes to the variety of Shanxi drum dancing in different areas.Chapter Three:General introduction of Shanxi Jinnan drum dancing. The paper locked its subject as Jinnan drum dancing, used the geography folklore, culture of this administrative region as research basis, and researched on the formation and development of all kinds of forms of Jinnan drum dancing, from which the paper cited Wei Feng Luo Gu, Jishan Gao Tai Hua Gu, and Wanrong Hua Gu, to study them systematically and comprehensively due to their impacts and inheritance. The paper used methods such as image data analysis, folk interview and survey and so on to conclude the general artistic characteristic of Jinnan drum dancing and proposed some suggestions for its future development.Chapter Four:Cultural deposits and contemporary value of Shanxi Jinnan drum dancing. As the ending of the whole paper, this chapter deeply discussed the national spirit and quality which are expressed through the cultural form of drum dancing. From the angle of modern people’s spiritual needs, living environment, social brand effect, and cultural inheritance to expose the contemporary value of Jinnan drum dancing and its special meaning and interests.
