China was living in a transition age in twenty-thirties, which is from a traditionalsociety to a new society, so all round the society had the trait which was combinationof old and new, so did females life. On one hand, the society advocated freedom andequality actively since modern time, a lot of intellectual encouraged women toliberate themselves, Chiang Kai-shek started the New Life Movement in1933whichhad a new requirement to females, it hope women that they could go back home tobe understanding wives and loving mothers, so that all the family members canconform to ceremony, loyalty, honor, shame. This movement caused a new trend ofthought called new understanding wives and loving mothers, and it promotedwomen to go back home to do family affairs well. Face these kind of thought whichcontained new and ancient ways, many intellectual did not give up exploring the wayof females liberation, what is more, they held the flag of female liberation,introduced new customs and break the traditional ways to promote the developmentof females liberation. Women Month Magazine was the production of that age, itseditor thought that this magazine had no political、financial or religious background,and its aim was to help and save females. One side, it supplied a terrace tointellectual to debate the social problem, to publish research and to express theirown feeling. The other hand, it offered a place for women to have a rest in their spiritand a warehouse for females to study knowledge. Through the efforts of every editorin chief, Women Month Magazine became a real magazine which was from womenand serviced for women, half of its authors were females, most of its readers alsowere females, What is more, it was sold in most parts of China, and its content wasrich and varied, so this magazine can be seen a miniature of the ages woman’s life. Intwenty-thirties, females marriage and love changed from tradition to freedom morequickly, but during this process, imbalance between different district and betweencity and country cant be ignored, what’s more, during this even caused celibacy、divorce doctrine and so on. In twenty-thirties, females’ education and vocation alsohad the feature of transition. Face the rise of retro trend, females’ education and vocation didn’t stop their steps to go ahead, though during the way some imbalanceand problems were occurred which was the result of history and reality. Intwenty-thirties, with the requirement of New Life Movement, many associations forthe promotion of New Life Movement and unions for the guidance of woman held alot of kinds of activities to promote woman to join in New Life Movement in hygieneand health’s term. All this had given a chance for female to strong their own hygieneand health. Every ways of females life in this age had the characteristic of transition,and at the same time they had large amount of progress than before, these successwas inseparable from the hard work of the woman’s magazines, can’t be separablefrom the exploration of woman’s freedom, and can not be divided from the regainconsciousness of woman own.
