"The standard of full-time compulsory educational mathematics curriculum (experiment draft)"stresses that everyone should learn valuable mathematics and everyone can get the necessary mathematics and different people have different development in mathematics. Now, however, the way of teaching is "parallel classes" of the traditional education system. The teachers carry out unified teaching with unified teaching materials and unified teaching requirements in a unified standard. Because of the different congenital and different acquired environmental differences between students, there are differences among students in interests, personality, intelligence and other aspects, so the information that the students accept is different. Now the teaching methods can not meet the development of all students, not considering the individual differences among students. If this behavior continues for a long time, the phenomenon of the top students who don’t have enough to eat while the poor students cannot digest must appear. This not only inhibits the development of the former, but also aggravates the burden of the latter in virtually. With the passing of time, the phenomenon of polarization has become increasingly apparent, which is common in junior high schools. In order to solve the above problem and optimize the teaching effect as well as improve teaching efficiency and teaching quality, implementing hierarchical teaching in teaching is the best choice.At present, the concept that measuring the school whether it is good or not with the graduation rates of entrance examination for secondary school has not yet been broken in a part of junior middle schools, and it becomes even more serious. The nine-year compulsory education is carried out throughout the country at present, and all the primary school graduates should go to the nearest school. The learning level of students is uneven. In order to improve the enrollment rate, many teachers pay all costs to help few students, but ignore the majority of students’learning, which affect the enthusiasm of their learning and teaching efficiency and teaching quality seriously. It is not consistent with quality education obviously. Therefore, we’re going to explore a new teaching organization form--stratification teaching under the condition without changing the original class. Carrying out stratification teaching can pay attention to the individual differences among students, teach students in accordance of their aptitude, fully stimulate the students’learning enthusiasm and initiative and give full play to students’ individual potential and enables all students to improve themselves on the original extent.In order to study the stratification teaching of middle school mathematics, I discuss it from the background and significance of the stratification teaching, the development of stratified teaching at home and abroad, the definition of stratification teaching and its theoretical basis, the necessity and feasibility of stratification teaching in middle school mathematics and the experiment on stratification teaching of the middle school mathematics and so on.
