Economic development is in the rapid of the current, almost of world appeared to the phenomenon that transform the nature for survival benefit by human.In the process which is lasted for thousands of years to transform the nuture, a lot of slope with age appeared to the human’s life and become more and more serious.So slope stabily become an inescapable problem, and slope safety to maintain the human safrty at any time.Landslide disaster has become a one of the most frequent geological disters, and the problem of red beds landslide is particularly noteworthy too.Red beds are widely distributed in Yunnan, while Yuxi-Pu’er red beds distributed a large proportion of it, mudstone is the largest in lithologies.So this paper take the Yuxi-Pu’er red beds mudstone landslide of research object. Based on systemic field surveys and detailed statistics study, and depending on statistic the classification made of mudstone landslide,we can making qualitative analysis and quantitative evaluation to typical landslide. Uses ansys, FLAC-3D and LiZheng software for draw reliable conclusions provide a theoretical basis for landslide prevention in process.The results show that the probability of the occurrence of landslides to excavate to completely weathered layer is lower than to excavate to strongly weathered layer. And the slip surface is located in the boundary between strongly weathered layer and medium weathered layer is mostly, the slip surface is located in the boundary between completely weathered layer with strongly weathered layer is lessly, the two rates were 82.58%and 15.91%.Through analysis shows that due to the nature of the completely weathered mudstone near the soil, loose structure with larger gaps led to a lot of rain water infiltration strongly weathered layer.There are quite different nature between strongly weathered mudstone layer with medium weathered mudstone layer, medium weathered mudstone layer’s gap is very small, the water is not free to infiltration, so which mainly occur in the lower part of the strongly weathered mudstone layer, causing slip surface most likely to occur in the boundary between strongly weathered layer and medium weathered layer and leding the probability of the occurrence of landslides to excavate to strongly weathered layer is higher.We can know the most landslides are stable or less stable in study are in the natural state by evaluating results.This landslides’stability is greatly reduce under heavy rain or earquakes factors,so we should take strengthen protection and take different retaining、reinforcing and drainaging according to their characteristics.
