With the high development of China’s economic, the demand for natural gas is growing rqpidly. However, the conventional natural gas resource is limited, so large quantity of liquefied natural gas is imported to make up the gap between the supply and demand of natural gas. As a result, the construction of LNG receiving terminal is booming. And the LNG receiving terminal is extremely important in LNG supply chain acting as a connecting role. Only well matche the storage volume of LNG tanks and unloading volume of LNG vessels can we make sure that the normal work of LNG receiving terminal avoiding the phenomenon of out of stock or super stock. So the inventory management and control of LNG terminal is researched from the perspective of LNG supply chain. However, there is no learn on the aspect. Therefore the inventory management and control methods of logistics inventory system are studied to research the inventory control problems of LNG receinving terminal.First of all. the basic theory of inventory management and control is analyzed in detail, the inventory control problem of LNG receiving terminal is a non-uniform deterministic demand inventory problem. According to the analysis of its inventory management features, its inventory control model is established based on the static and dynamic uncertainty model.Then, the GM (1,1) model of gray forecast method is built to predict its downstream market demand. And its maximum stock level, minimum stock level and safety stock level are calculated, ordering strategy is developed as well. Three inventory control models are established respectively according to the three models of LNG transportation, not only assure its normal work, but also achieve the lowest expectation cost of the LNG supply chain. At last these models are solved by the W-W algorithm, so the optimal LNG ship, optimal ordering quantity and optimal arrivaling time are determined. What is more, the optimal annual ordering plan is developed.In addition, another inventory control model is established based on a rolling plan due to the shortcomings of static and dynamic uncertainty model after the realization of the demand of LNG receiving terminal. And the previously predicted inventory is updated as the actual one, then the inventory of unrealized demand is re-forcasted. Referring to the new predictive inventory, the phenomenon of out of stock or super stock is judged, its appearance time is assessed, the volume of out of stock or super sotck is calculated, as well as its rolling plan of increasing the LNG spot trading or LNG tanker loading is determined.Last but not the least, the inventory management and control system of LNG receiving terminal is developed by the Visual Basic6.0language. This program is tested by the LNG receiving terminal on Bohai Sea, and the calculated results show that this program has a high reliability and practical value.
