Stamping is an important part of the manufacturing industry. Automation upgradinghas become an urgent demand for traditional stamping enterprises because of the poorworking environment and increasing labor costs. There are a variety of automaticstamping scheme alternatives. The gripper&feeder scheme has a simple structure so itis suitable for long-term massive production of a single part. The movable feedingmanipulator scheme is flexible for setting production lines. Linear motion manipulator isexcellent in the production flexibility. Rotary motion manipulator has high efficiency andsuitable for massive production. In order to meet the need of stamping enterprises to improve efficiency and flexibilityof production lines, an automatic production line updating scheme is designed, whichconsists of destackers, feeders, exchange adjustment machines, presses and haystackers. The structure composition, principle and design process of the automatic production line isresearched. A control system consisting of exchange adjustment machines andmanipulators is designed and has an improved response speed. PLC and HMI are selectedas the system core and servo motors as executive units according to the requirements ofreliability, operability and scalability. The electrical schematic of control units is designed. The software program is developed by the PLC ladder. A human-computerinteraction interface is achieved.A workshop level automatic stamping production line is built by linking up PLCsafter upgrading a traditional production line. After a long-term debugging, the feedingfrequency can reach11times per minute and the stamping parts have a good quality.
