With the development of society, noise pollution problem gets more and more attention. While in the composition of noise pollution, the noise pollution caused by construction accounts for a large proportion. Construction noise not only disturbs people’s life and work, but also it has an impact on people’s physical and mental health, so the state and local government developed a construction noise emission standards to limit the construction noise emission strictly. In this context, this paper studies real-time monitoring system of construction noise to support managers to make right decisions for construction noise control.In this paper, computer technology, network technology, virtual instrument technology are adopted to conduct research on construction noise monitoring system based on NI CompactDAQ acquisition platform.Firstly, the generation and hazard of construction noise are summarized, the research of automatic monitoring system and the development of noise measuring instrument are analyzed. The main directions and disadvantages of the existing research are summarized, and the research object and methods are determined.Secondly, based on the function demand analysis of noise monitoring system, the NI CompactDAQ is used as the hardware platform. The acquisition chassis, acquisition modular, microphone and the main controller, as well as the characteristic, working principles of each hardware are introduced in detail.Then, the overall function of system is designed by graphical programming language LabVIEW, functions like parameter setting, data acquisition and control, data display, analysis, alarm and storage are designed by using the modular design method.Finally, the noise measurement experiment is done, include the connection of hardware, configuration of hardware, the acquisition software settings and the monitoring effect, to verify the feasibility of the system.The real-time monitoring system proposed in this paper can be used in the construction noise monitoring. Due to construction noise’s locality, multiple and temporary characteristics, the monitoring system can monitor the construction noise in real-time so as to provide support for construction noise management.
