Design Of Multi-function Air Quality Detector Based On FPGA

With the development of economy, air pollution is becoming more serious. Air quality becomes one of the main factors that affects human’s health, and pepple want to know the air quality to improve the living environment, the demand of the air quality detector is increasing. By analyzing the characteristics of the detector at the market, the air detector can be classfied into professional detector and ordinary detector. The professional detector’s precision is high and has many functions, but the price is too expensive to suit for the ordinary consumer, and the operation is complicated. Ordinary detector’s price is relatively low, but it also has some problems, such as low accuracy, single function, limited applicable occasions. Therefore, the air quality detector which is multi-functional, affordable, suitable for ordinary families has a good application prospect.This paper choose sensor-test as the principle of gas detection. Combining the flexibility of embedded system, system use FPGA as hardware platform to design. Hardware design include FPGA relevant circuit design, driven design of each module, and building a flexible, efficient, portable and scalable SOPC system with the help of third-party IP core and user-defined IP core. In the software design, the system transplant related algorithms, such as concentration prediction and gas classification, to get gases’ concentration. Using generous and beautiful as the principle of functional interface design to provide a friendly interactive interface. To improve the system’s entertainment, system achieve voice alarm and music player functional. By performing SD card read, transplanting Libmad audio decoding library and lyrics transcoding, the system achieve smooth music playing and real-time lyrics displaying.The test results show that the system not only can accurately realize six kinds of pollution gas detection, including the formaldehyde, benzene, toluene, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, oxygen, but also has many other functions including voice alarm, alcohol detection, music player, alarm clock. In summary, this detector has small volume, stable and multi function, friendly interface, hardware and software can be upgraded. Compared with the same products on the market at present, this detector has higher price-performance ratio, can meet the ordinary consumers’ needs better, and has a good application prospect.
