For a long time, coal has accounted for a large proportion in energy structure of China and has played an important role in the development of China’s economy. A mine project is essential for coal production, and it is an important foundation for the development of energy industry in China. The construction quality of a mine project has a close relationship with its economic benefits, operation efficiency,and mine workers’ life and safety security. Especially in the circumstances where our country makes great efforts to promote "high-yielding and high-efficiency” in mine construction, it is a critical issue that how to improve the performance of project management continuously and how to ensure higher construction quality in mine project. This paper takes Hengshan mine project as an example, and puts forward useful measures for rectification combined with the quality problems in the first construction phase of the project.Therefore, not only can the project provide a scientific basis for the follow-up project construction management decision, but also provide an important reference for other types of construction project. This paper mainly includes:The first one is the analysis of the quality of Hengshan mine project. Based on introducing the external contractual conditions and construction planning, this study analyzes the main measures taken by the project team in terms of quality management from the aspects of the monitoring system, dust control technology, energy-saving design, etc. But quality problems still occur in the first phase of the project such as inferior underground integrated flood control, poor tunnel construction quality and deviation in the mechanical and electrical engineering, and reasons mainly lie in the inferior quality supervision system, the unscientific technical scheme and poor quality of construction team.The second one is the rectification measures for quality problem in this project. According to the quality problems that appeared in the first phase of the project, this study proposes rectification measures in the follow-up project quality management, includes: developing dynamic mechanism in quality control of construction project, strengthening the quality control of key sectors, and improving the project quality supervision system and the construction team quality.The third one is the security measures for the rectification program of Hengshan mine project. In order to implement the rectification measures and improve the quality management level significantly, this study proposes the security measures to ensure the implementation of the program, such as strengthening responsibility in the project quality management system, complying with the project quality standard strictly, consummating safety management examination system, and making great efforts in the statistics work.
