With the continuous development of computer technology, digital and network technology, the requirement of people on printing quality, printing efficiency and so on, The printing machine are also moving in the direction of high speed, high efficiency, automatic, intelligent. More and more high-tech is cited in global manufacturing industry and industrial simulation, virtual reality is one of high-tech. It can effectively make up for the traditional teaching and training with its characteristics of immersion, interactive, imagination. Virtual reality used in printing machine reduces the waste of materials, equipment investment, decision-making errors, meeting the basic requirements of modern teaching and training.Offset printing machine movement simulation system is based on the technology of virtual reality, and selects J2205 two-color sheet-fed offset press as the prototype, developed the virtual system. Firstly, collecting and analyzing data of printing machine various parts. Using Solidworks to establish printing machine parts model and analysis the constraint relationship among parts assemble the parts into a whole printing machine and have necessary interference detection. Then rendered and made animation with the 3D model software 3Dsmax. Finally through the late development platform Unity3D to integrate multimedia and 3D models into a system released the executable format and Web-page format.The system has the function of assembly demo, explaining press movement, paper feeding motion process and so on. Its successful realization satisfy people’s requirement of observing printing machine appearance, offset printing machine movement principle, learning dismantling and assembly. It provides a new method for 3D model design of mechanical parts, analyzed the time and size parameters that exporting models from Solidworks and importing models into 3Dsmax and chose the best intermediate format through comparing five kinds intermediate format. And some parts of J2205 offset printing machine were analyzed in dynamics. What’s more we completed simulate the printing machine motion process and its assembly process display.
