Clinical Research On Treating Older Essential Hypertension (Qi Deficiency And Blood Stasis) With Combined Buzhong Yiqi Decoction And Pressing Ear Acupoint With Bean

Objective:to observe the clinical effects and safety of combined Buzhong YiqiDecoction and Pressing Ear Acupoint with Bean and Irbesartan Hydrochlorothiazidefor treating elder essential hypertension (qi deficiency and blood stasis）and inquireinto the mechanisms of it’s functions.Methods: ninety cases of elderly patients, which are in accordance with theinclusive criteria, were randomly divided into three groups with30cases of each,namely control group of western medicine, treatment group A of combination ofChinese and Western medicine and treatment group B of combination of Chinese andWestern medicine with Pressing Ear Acupoint with Bean. The control group wastreated only by Irbesartan Hydrochlorothiazide tablets（each tablet containing150mgirbesartan and12.5mg hydrochlorothiazide，once a day）. The treatment group A wastreated by Buzhong Yiqi Decoction combined with Irbesartan Hydrochlorothiazidetablets. And the treatment group B was treated by Pressing Ear Acupoint with Beanon the basis of the above Chinese and western medicine. The duration of thetreatment for the three groups was two weeks. The observation focused on signs,symptomsand laboratory tests before and after treatment as well as the adversereactions and safety during treating process of all patients. And the related data werestatistically analyzed and worked out the curative effect evaluation.Results: the results of treatment group A and B were superior to control groupin effective rate of hypertension, range of descending blood pressure, reducing heartrate, the total effective rate of the clinical effects. At the same time, there were improvements on clinical symptoms such as dizziness,headache, shortness ofbreath,weakness,fatigue,spontaneous sweating, laziness to speak in those twogroups(P<0.05). Furthermore, the symptoms could be eliminated by the treatment ingroup B(P<0.05). There were no obvious differences in the treatment group A and Bin antihypertensive effects (P>0.05).Conclusion: There are satisfactory effects and no toxic-side effects of treatingolder essential hypertension(qi deficiency and blood stasis） by Buzhong YiqiDecoction and Pressing Ear Acupoint with Bean and Irbesartan Hydrochlorothiazide,which provides important value to the clinical application.
