Objective:To explore motivational interviewing in the rehabilitation procedure of hospitalized elderly patients with stroke, verifying the functional exercises compliance for patients with this method and effects of daily living ability.Methods:Accroding to the access standard,102 patients from neurological department were selected and numbered in The Second affiliated hospital of zhengzhou university from oct,2014 to Mar,2015.51 patients had been randomly enrolled into intervention group which received motivational Interviewing, while the rest from control group received the traditional health education. Two groups were evaluated seperately before,2-3 days later and one month after the intervention by using EAQ and MBI.Results:1.The functional exercise compliance in the two groups was all on the rise, lowest before intervention,2-3 days later the second,1 month after was the highest (P<0.05). The compliance of intervention group was higher than that of the contrast group at the different time points after intervention(P<0.05).2. The daily activity ability of patients in the two groups showed a rising trend, lowest before intervention,2-3 days later the second,1 month after was the highest(P<0.05).The ability of intervention group was greater than the contrast group one month after the intervention (P<0.05), presenting a good long-term effect, but showed no difference before and 2-3 days after the intervention.Conclusion:Motivational interviewing could greatly enhance the functional exercise anherence and daily activities of hospitalized stroke patients,presenting a good long-term effect. Intervention effect is superior than the traditional health education.
