Objective:To explore the change of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) in atrial fibrillation and hypertensive patients. Methods:The BNP was measured in 469 atrial fibrillation,426 hypertensive patients and a control of 200 healthy subjects. The differences of these indices were compared between the two groups. Results:The plasma BNP level in atrial fibrillation and hypertensive patients was higher than that of the control group, the plasma BNP level was elevated with the ascending of the classification of heart function and hypertension especially in left atrial remodeling, heart failure and higher hypertensive grades. Conclusion:The plasma BNP level in atrial fibrillation and hypertensive patients is closely correlated with left atrial diameter and the classification of hypertension, so BNP could be used to judge the severity of atrial fibrillation and hypertensive patients. |
