The Efficacy Study Of Sini Powder Treating The Stagnation Of Liver Qi Of Depression Syndrome In Female

PurposeIn the modern civilized society, many people are in the high risks of depression due to lots of social problems. Numerous Taiwanese females, under the stress from the society and family, have the symptoms of depression, such as being stressed, emotionally repressed, irritable, and anxious. To help with the modern females’ problems, this research uses Sini Powder as the main studied treatment medicine for females, aged from 30 to 60, who are depressed with syndromes of liver qi depression. It is expected that from this research, an effective way can be found to prevent and cease the development of further depression symptoms, which will be an important clinical contribution to depression studies.Procedures60 females with syndromes of liver qi depression are divided into the treatment group and the control group. Sini Powder is used on the treatment group, while the control group receives no Chinese medicine but only vitamin E+C capsules. The accumulated points before and after the treatment are statistically analyzed with SPSS software. The data acquired undergoes rank sum tests using the difference in means. A comparison of the differences between the two time periods is statistically gained, which are two weeks before the treatment and the period after the one-month treatment. Moreover, a division by data based on the overall effects of the individual symptoms is adopted to produce a percentage. The percentage allows us to explore the possible situations of each symptom and to reflect on the effectiveness of the treatment.ResultFrom the first treatment to the fifth treatment on the treatment and control group, it is found that the treatment group reveals a differential of 15.20±3.01 before and after the treatment, which is apparently higher than the control group’s differential of 4.53±1.94. The data explains that there is an evident effect from the fifth-week treatment on the treatment group. In the comparison of the symptoms, the treatment group shows great improvements in the syndromes of liver qi depression, such as flanks chest pain, lower abdomen pain, chest tightness, frequent sighs, unstable pulse strings. In addition, among the sixteen patient cases with the secondary symptoms of headache, fifteen cases have reported recovery, which is an effective treatment result.GonelusionFrom the view point of the Chinese medicine, Sini Powder is proved to have effective healing result on resolving liver depression, removing stasis of blood, promoting qi to activate blood, relieving swelling pain, and restoring calmness. It is concluded that Sini Powder can be effectively used to treat females’syndromes of liver qi depression. The contribution manifests meaningful in clinical research.
