Clinical Observation On The Efficacy Of Yuanhuliqi Decoction In The Treatment Of Disharmony Of The Liver And Stomach Syndrome Of GERD

ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy of Yuanhuliqi Decoction on the disharmony of liver and stomach syndrome of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).Investigating the improvement of main symptoms and secondary symptoms so as to assess the efficacy of Yuanhuliqi Decoction on the disharmony of liver and stomach syndrome of GERD.The aim of this project is to provide a new effective and safe way for GERD,which might help improve clinical outcomes.MethodSixty patients with the disharmony of liver and stomach syndrome of GERD were randomly divided into treatment arm and control arm (thirty cases in each arm).The treatment arm was administered by Yuanhuliqi Decoction one dose per day,and compared with the control arm, which was taken orally by Lansoprazole30mg plus Mosapride5mg for once, bid.Both of the two arms had a treatment course of two weeks. The questionnaires of symptoms of the disharmony of liver and stomach syndrome of GERD scale,RDQ score and GerdQ score were finished in the pre-treatment and two weeks post-treatment,respectively.At the end of this study,all data was statistically analysed.By comparing the symptoms scores,RDQ scores and GerdQ scores in pre-treatment and post-treatment between the two arms,we observed the recovery of main symptoms and secondary symptoms based on the standardized symptom evaluation,and assessed the curative effects and safety of Yuanhuliqi Decoction.ResultAfter two weeks treatment, there was no significant difference in total effective rate between the two arms (P>0.05).Which indicated that the two arms had similar clinical effects while in treating GERD in the short-term.There was significant difference in total symptoms score and single symptom score between pre-treatment and post-treatment in both of the two arms (P<0.05).However,the total symptoms score seem to be none of significant difference between the two arms(P>0.05).ConclusionYuanhuliqi Decoction may be effective for the disharmony of liver and stomach syndrome of GERD in the short-term.Yuanhuliqi Decoction might improve the related clinical symptoms of GERD patients,and has the similar efficacy compared with modern medicine in the short-term.Therefore,it should be a rewarding process to further study or expand the clinical application.
