The Clinical Research Of The Huanglian Wendan Tang For The Treatment Of Metabolic Syndrome

Objective:To explore the clinical curative effect of patients which suffered from metabolic syndrome with phlegm heat repression by huanglian wendan tang, so as to provide clinical basis for prevention and treatment of metabolic syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:To adopt the randomized controlled method,60 patients which met eligibility criteria of the metabolic syndrome according to the proportion of 30 cases by 1:1 were randomly divided into control group and treatment group.There were 30 cases in the control group and these cases were given the foundational treatment which included exercise and diet therapy, simultaneously the cases who had high blood pressure, high cholesterol or high blood glucose were given pure western medicine routine to anti hypertensive, reduce lipid and control blood sugar treatment.The control group would be in the treatment for 12 weeks in a row,so would the treatment group.The treatment group was in the foundation treatment,meanwhile it was added to huanglian wendan tang which needed to be warm-taked twice a day. We recorded the clinical indexes of two groups before and after treatment of TCM syndrome total score, body mass index, waist circumference, blood pressure, blood glucose, blood lipid, liver and kidney function, three routine safety indexes respectively.Results:Compared the two groups after treatment had different degrees of improvements(P<0.01)in reducing the score of TCM symptoms,the blood glucose, CRP and regulating blood lipid,and the two groups of comparisons had the significance difference(P<0.01).In terms of lowering blood pressure,weight index and the size of waistlines,we found a evident decrease of it after treatment(P<0.05),and no significant difference was found between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:1.By the result of this study,huanglian wendan tang can significantly improve the clinical curative effect of patients with the metabolic syndrome.2.Huanglian wendan tang is more effective than simplex west medicine on improving glucolipid metabolism and reducing CRP in patients with metabolic syndrome,and the problems on reducing blood pressure and losing weight are expecting for further research.
