Combination Of Standard Needle Acupuncture And Herbal Fumigation Treatment Of Peripheral Facial Paralysis

Objective:To main objective of this research is to contribute to the treatment of facial paralysis by the way of combining the acupuncture method with the Chinese traditional facial steam treatment. We set out the purpose to make comparative analysis of the combination treatment of acupuncture treatment and facial steaming treatment and the sole acupuncture treatment method and to develop a highly effective novel treatment method for the treatment of facial paralysis basing on the conclusions of the comparative analysis.Methods:The methodology is based on the procedure to treat facial paralysis patients who developed about 60 types of the paralysis and to conduct research and comparative analysis of the treatment results. Specifically the research for identifying a new method of facial paralysis treatment by the method of combining the acupuncture treatment with the Chinese medicine steaming treatment shall be based on detecting treatment result differences from the sole acupuncture method. In addition the guidelines HOUSE BRACKMANN (H-B) issued by the international conference on facial nerve surgery for conducting analysis of facial nerve functioning, making conclusions and evaluating the treatment results of the different treatment methods and modules.Result:The comparison of the sole acupuncture method and the combination of the Chinese medicine steaming method and the acupunctures shows after treatment P value which is a function of the observed sample results relative to a statistical model (which measures how extreme the observation is) P=0.004(P<0.05) demonstrates it is statistically significant through statistical analysis. For more detailed, P value-Wilcoxon signed rank test of the sole acupuncture method is P=0.002(P<0.005); for the combination of the Chinese medicine steaming method and the acupunctures is P=0.0001(P<0.005) which means the combination of the Chinese medicine steaming and the acupuncture method is more statistically significant than sole acupuncture method. You can see it through Kappa value, neither.Conclusion:1. The facial paralysis treatment method of combining acupuncture method with Chinese medicine steaming method is proven to be a highly effective treatment method.2. The facial paralysis treatment method of combining acupuncture method with Chinese medicine steaming method has much higher effectiveness compared with the sole acupuncture method.
