Objective:To study the clinical date of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes to analyze the clinical characteristics and related factors of elderly patients with type2 diabetes and abnormal thyroid function. Methods:A retrospective analysis was c-arried out on clinical data of 227 cases of diabetes patients(≥ 60 years old), w-ho were inpatients from endocrine department and geriatrics department of Second Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University between March 2011 and Marc-h 2015. 81 cases were accompanied with abnormal thyroid function,56 cases were accompanied with subclinical hypothyroidism(SCH group) while 146 cases were not(non-SCH group). Clinical data and biochemical indexes of two groups of patients were compared. Logistic regression analysis was adopted for multi-factor analysis on indexes with statistically significant differences. Results:SCH group had longer disease course, higher coincidence of coronary heart disease(CHD), FBG, HbA1 c, CRP, TG, 24-h quantitative of urine protein and 24-h DBP than non-SCH group with statistically significant differences(all P values were less than 0.05), Logistic multifactor analysis showed that disease course, BMI, HbA1, CRP, TG an d quantitative of urine protein were independent risk factors for elderly patients wit-h type 2 diabetes and SCH(ORs were 1.140, 1.374, 1.947, 1.113, 1.419, and 1.044, respectively, 95%CIs were 1.051~1.237, 1.209~1.562, 1.310~2.894, 1.037~1.195, 1.084~1.858 and 1.003~1.086). Conclusions:subclinical hypothyroidism is more common in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes, and disease course, BMI, HbA1 c, CRP, and TG are independent risk factors for elderly patients with type 2 diabetes, while biguanide drug may be protective factor. |
