The Study Of Dialectical Thought And Medication Rules Of Gan Zuwang For Treating Tinnitus And Deafness

ObjectiveBy cluster analysis method, the study of dialectical thought and medication rules of Gan Zuwang for treating tinnitus and deafness provides a new method for future research on famous physicians’medication rules for treating other diseases.MethodsIn this study, the Traditional Chinese medical records were from Professor Gan Zuwang and his disciples’published academic monographs, in addition to unpublished ones of Professor Li Yunying. (1)Make a medical data set by inputting basic information, Four Diagnostic Information, Chinese medicine prescription from 187 patients’cases to Microsoft Excel 2007 Office;(2) Choose several Chinese medicines which are used not less than 7 times as the high frequency ones, classify them into certain types by medicine function according to Traditional Chinese Pharmacology, then use frequency analysis to deal with each type of Chinese Medicines. (3)Import the medical data set into software PASW Statistics 18.0, cluster analysis of the high frequency Chinese Medicines using the connection between groups of hierarchical cluster analysis and the interval of Pearson correlation, get the similarity matrix and dendrogram eventually.Results63 kinds of Chinese medicines are chosen as the high frequency ones which Professor Gan Zuwang used most commonly to treat tinnitus and deafness. It is concluded that Professor Gan Zuwang most commonly used for tinnitus and deafness were the six kinds of Chinese medicines. According to analyzing these Chinese medicines frequency in 187 cases’prescription for tinnitus and deafness, it indicates the forward 6 are drugs for nourishing deficiency, drugs for relieving exterior syndromes, drugs for activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, drugs for eliminating dampness, drugs for inducing resuscitation, drugs for heat clearing in turn.(2)By means of Pearson correlation coefficient analysis in the similarity matrix, we can get 26 groups of couplet medicines. (3) By means of dendrogram in cluster analysis, we can get 11 groups of core prescription. The first group of drugs,10 kinds of ones including Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata and corii Asini Colla, are mainly used for nourishing yin. The second group of drugs,8 kinds of ones including Lophatherum gracile and Rhizoma Imperatae, are mainly used for clearing heat. The third group of drugs,3 kinds of ones including Rhizoma Chuanxiong and Radix Paeoniae Alba, are mainly used for replenishing blood. The forth group of drugs,6 kinds of ones including Semen Persicae and Flos Carthami, are mainly used for promoting blood circulation. The fifth group of drugs,3 kinds of ones including Fructus Psoraleae and Placenta Hominis, are mainly used for supplementing kidney. The sixth group of drugs,9 kinds of ones including Radix Pseudostellariae and Semen Dolichoris, are mainly used for strengthening spleen. The seventh group of drugs,7 kinds of ones including Rhizoma Pinelliae and Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae are mainly used for reducing phlegm. The eighth group of drugs,3 kinds of ones including Herba Pogostemonis and Herba Eupatorii, are mainly used for eliminating dampness. The ninth group of drugs,6 kinds of ones including Herba Ephedrae and Semen Armeniacae Amarum, are mainly used for treating exterior syndromes. The tenth group of drugs,4 kinds of ones including Radix Aucklandiae and Radix Linderae, are mainly used for regulating Qi. The eleventh group of drugs,4 kinds of ones including Radix Bupleuri and Radix Cimicifugae, are mainly used for invigorating Yang. (4) Combined with literature research and cluster analysis results, it comes to several conclusions that the dialectical thought and medication rules of Professor Gan Zuwang for treating tinnitus and deafness.Conclusion(1) The medication rules of Professor Gan Zuwang for treating tinnitus and deafness are mainly nourishing Yin, clearing heat, replenishing blood, promoting blood circulation, supplementing kidney, strengthening spleen, reducing phlegm, eliminating dampness, treating exterior syndromes, regulating Qi, invigorating Yang. (2)The dialectical thought of Professor Gan Zuwang for treating tinnitus and deafness is on the basis of Five Zang Organs theory, distinguishing excess syndromes from deficiency ones by tinnitus volume, pitch, acceptance or repudiation of extraneous noise, discriminating between objectivity and subjectivity tinnitus by the continuous and intermittent. (3) Treatment for tinnitus and deafness according to syndrome differentiation should be applied flexibly on basis of fixed arrangement, and dealt with between the primary and secondary type.
