Purpose:1. To evaluate the validity and reliability of the core competence of cancer professional nurse scale.2. To analyze the influence factors of the core competence of cancer professional nurses.3. To discuss the relevance between the core competence of cancer professional nurses and professional identity.Methods:Convenience sampling methods and statistical methods.1.The investigation is under two rounds. The subjects in the first round are 320 cancer professional nurses obtaining the certificate of professional nurses for cancer between 2012 and 2014 awarded by Shanxi nurse association and 320 doctors. The questionnaires are made up of self-designed general information questionnaires and core competence of cancer professional nurse scale. It aims at screening the evaluation of the core competence of cancer professional nurse scale in the scientific methods and examining the validity and reliability of the scale.SPSS19.0 statistic software is used for data entry and analysis.2. The subjects in the second round are 280 nurses obtaining the certificate of professional nurses for cancer between 2014 and 2015 awarded by Shanxi nurse association. The questionnaires are made up of self-designed general information questionnaires and core competence of cancer professional nurse scale and nurses’ professional identity scale. The recycling questionnaires are resulted in 94.64%(265)sample return. SPSS19.0 statistic software is used for data entry and analysis.Results:1. Based on the variation coefficient method, at least 4 methods are chosen, original12 entries deleted.2.The Krone Bach coefficient of the scale is 0.976. Each dimension enjoys a level of above 0.85 which indicates a good internal reliability. The factor analysis methods are made to indicate the validity with a reasonable range. In this study, the scale is based on self-appraise and other-evaluation(above 0.4)and conducted on Pearson correlation coefficient(below 0.01), with a good validity.3.The total score of core competence of cancer professional nurse is 209.50 ± 31.42 point, ranking the average level.4. The different level of core competence of cancer professional nurse with ages,hospital nature, hospital level,first degree, working years, monthly income,employment and title was statistically significant. The general difference of department, highest degree and title was not statistically significant.5. Based on 5 dimension of core competence of cancer professional nurse and 7dimension of professional identity, the study is conducted on the Pearson correlation coefficient. It results in positive correlation(P<0.01).The correlation coefficient is from0.223 to 0.480 point,with low and middle degree correlation.The multiple regression analysis of the influencing factors of core competence of cancer professional nurse shows that hospital nature, working ages, hospital level and professional identity with self efficacy and self determination became the five variables entered into the final regression equation, and they can explain the 43.6% variation in the core competence of cancer professional nurses.Conclusions:1.It suggested that core competence of professional cancer nurses scale in this study is a measuring instrument with good validity and reliability.2. The core competence of professional cancer nurses are in the average in this study.The ages, hospital nature, hospital level,first degree, working years, monthly income,employment and title are the influencing factors to the core competence. The highest degree, department and post are not the influencing factors.3. The core competence are positively correlated with the processional identity. The hospital nature, working ages, hospital level and professional identity with self efficacy and self determination became the five variables entered into the final regression equation,and they can explain the 43.6% variation in the core competence of cancer professional nurses.
