A Mocking Interpreting Report On The Meeting Of "Lvyuan Electric Bicycle"

With the high development of Chinese economy, the society needs more and moreinterpreters and pays greater attention to them. Although English becomes very popularnow, and the interpreters get the high salary, the real qualified talents are still in short.The reason is that the road to become a qualified interpreter is very hard. Thisphenomenon causes many students whose major is the interpretation give up thisindustry when they graduate. Therefore in order to meet that challenge and demand, theauthor organizes this mock meeting which is the preparation to become a qualifiedinterpreter.This mock meeting report is based on Zhang Ping’s essay, named “The InterpretationPractice and Analysis on the Meeting of Lvyuan Eletric Bicycle”. The aim is to improvethe quality of the interpretation in terms of pragmatism.This thesis consists of three parts: introduction, main body and conclusion. Its maincontents are as follows:The first part is the introduction, including the domestic research situation andrelevant operating procedures of this simulated conference.The second part is the main body, which is made up of three chapters:Chapter One mainly introduces the formal pre-preparation phase. In this chapter, itfirst introduces the background of participating company, and then the preparation ofinterpretation skills from accuracy, fluency and appropriateness, and finally thepre-departure preparation and the final preparations before the start of the meeting.Chapter Two concentrates on the post-interpretation analysis phase. It analyzes therole of pre-preparation stage in the interpreting, the impact of other factors, such as notes,memories, mental elements, listening, grammar, etc. This chapter finally discusses thepositive and negative influences of the interpreting with script.Chapter Three focuses on the interpreting experience. It firstly discusses the way toimprove bilingual language skills, the emergency appearing in this meeting and itscoping strategies. Finally, this chapter talks about how to properly treat translationmethods.The last part is the conclusion, which makes a summary of the whole thesis andpoints out the main purpose of this thesis, which is to improve the quality of theinterpretation. It puts forward that the interpreters should form a systematic interpretation program. And this essay also proposes that the interpreter shall put attention on theancient Chinese and train the basic linguistic knowledge and non-linguistic knowledge.
