Three modal particles are necessary because they need to express different tone significances. In the fifth chapter, we investigated other ten Chinese dialects and found that a part of Chinese dialects are need to show modal and tone meaning simultaneously. Mood meaning only involves the interrogative meaning, while tone meaning is always more complex, that is to say a mood category can further contain several different tone category meanings.
