The Research Between Vocational Students’Parental Styles, Inferiority Sense And Achievement Motivation

On the basis of previous related studies, this paper selected263technician vocational students in Tianjin Public School for the study. The paper adopts the parenting styles scale (EMBU), the feelings of inadequacy scale (FIS) and the achievement motivation scale (AMS) and collected the data.At last,by descriptive statistical analysis, T test,variance analysis and multiple regression analysis,the paper analyze vocational students parenting styles, the situation of inferiority and achievement motivation, and discusses the relationship between them.Conclusions of the research are as follows:1. In the parenting style of vocational students father’s punishment, there is significant difference in gender and grade. In several other parenting styles, there are no significant differences in gender and grade. The differences in educational level of parents will cause different parenting styles. There is also different parenting styles among different occupation types.2. In the vocational students’inferiority sense, there is significant gender difference. Boys and girls have different inferiority sense of academic and appearance. There are significant grade differences in the inferiority sense of appearance.3. There is no significant gender and grade differences in the achievement motivation of vocational students.4. The parenting styles of vocational students have significant correlation with the inferiority sense. Parental warmth and inferiority sense have significant negative correlation. Parental punishment, parental rejection,parental over involvement and father’s over protection have significantly positive correlation with the inferiority sense. 5. Vocational students’pursuing success factor and parenting styles have significant positive correlation. Avoiding failure factor and parenting styles also have significant positive correlation6. Vocational students pursuing success factor and each factor of inferiority sense have significant positive correlation. Avoiding failure factor and each factor of inferiority sense have significant positive correlation too.7. Mother’s refusal,father’s over involvement can significantly predict the inferiority sense. Father’s warmth, mother’s refusal can significantly predict the motivation of pursuing success.Mother’s refusal,father’s warmth can significantly predict the motivation to avoiding failure.
