As primary and middle school students’ mental health work more and more important, secondary vocational students as a special student group, have less social attention and recognition. This research is through the parental rearing pattern and defense mechanisms of the secondary vocational students to explore the relationship to know the status of the secondary vocational students’ psychological and behavioral problems and factors about it. It also can provide some clues to strengthen the secondary vocational student’s psychological health.The use of secondary vocational students’ mature defense mechanism is significantly higher than immature defense mechanisms and the use of intermediate defense mechanisms. As you can see on secondary vocational students on the external response to defense choice is more positive and mature. More negative parental rearing pattern will cause the children to use immature defense mechanism, less use of mature defense mechanism; Parents’ emotion understanding and warm help children to use less immature defense mechanism. The parental rearing pattern can not only directly affect the defense mechanisms, but also through self-esteem, indirect effects on defense mechanisms.
