Empathy is a research focus in the areas of psychology. As an important component of emotional intelligence, empathy is a good mutual tie. And interpersonal relationship play an important roles in the living and learning of junior high school students. Numerous domestic and international researches suggest that empathy ability can be improved through short-term training, for junior high school students to cultivate empathy, and investigate the improvement of interpersonal relationships, has certain theoretical and practical significance.The aim of this study of junior high school students the ability to empathize and the current state of mutual respect, and sympathy for junior high school students was to investigate the effect of training. The study has two parts: Study 1 surveyed 509 participants, some from one Chongqing junior high school, others from one Sichuan junior high school, to study the current status and the relationship between the empathy and interpersonal relationship; Study 2 selected 40 students and were divided into experimental and control groups, each group has 11 boys and 9girls, and training empathy for the experimental group.The results of this study are:First, empathy and interpersonal relationships of junior high school students in the middle level is above normal. Different gender, origin and class cadre of junior high sch ool students showed significant differences in various sympathy. And junior high school students grades, origin, class cadre to whether or not a child in the case of mutual respe ct shown various important difference.Second, the junior high school was a significant positive relationship between emp athy and interpersonal. Junior high school students have high empathy, mutual status wil l be better. Junior high school students’ ability to empathize can predicate important waymutual position.Third, the experimental group students, under the guidance of the group took part i n the ability to empathize is a raised growth. Junior high school students have improved with the increase of sympathetic relationships.
