A Study On Social Worker Intervention Of The Elderly Living Alone Risk At Suiciding In The City

The population policy and cross-regional mobility made old people who live alone increase in large number in China, corresponding social problems also became obviously. The suicide problem of the old people who live alone in the city has caused the government and the public’s highly attention. As a vulnerable group the elderly people who live alone in the city, the suicide problem stands out in the process of rapid development of urbanization in China. Both social structure and cultural environment are the macroscopic reasons. It also has microscopic reason that is individual mental health. Compared with traditional public health, social policy and security perspective, social work professional suicide intervention model emphasis on environmental and individual, macro and micro organic connection; it can reduce the old people who live alone suicide rate significantly.The study of this problem divided into macro orientation and micro orientation by international and domestic academic circles. Academic discussion, from the perspective of macro and culture more emphasis on urbanization, population policy, social endowment policy and other factors; the discussion from the micro perspective tended to focus on life in the elderly and their physical and mental characteristics of individual reasons. The study of different perspectives for social science research intervention in the elderly suicide problem has provided a broad theoretical foundation and scientific method of intervention. On this basis, this paper based on the perspective of art force on solitary elderly suicide risk this special social phenomenon, its aim is to use professional social work theory and method provide professional services to solve the old people who live alone, advancing the solitary old man as a social individual and realize the function and value of recovery. At the same time, through the study of how the social workers help age services, to take care of marginalized group of old people who live alone, solitary old man tries to town suicide intervention to provide a new view, then explore the government-led combined with social work services of old people who live alone the implementation of the new social service system. This study will be focus on old people suicide intervention, select targeted solitary old people as the object of the in-depth interviews, get detailed firsthand material, and through the method of qualitative research, effectively obtain the basic situation of urban old people who live alone, real life situation and main requirements, etc. Based on this, this paper analyzed from the theory of crisis intervention, the old culture group theory, the theory of ecological system and other professional theory perspective; discussed the effective path of suicide risk social work intervention in the urban old people who live alone from three aspects, the case counseling, group work and community participation. Finally, the article puts forward to building the government leading combined with social work services intervention model based on the analysis of the multiple roles.
