Competitive tennis and public tennis are important components of the tenniscause in China. Thus, dealing properly with the relationship between competitivetennis and public tennis will have tremendous impacts on the Chinese tennis cause.The thesis takes the coordinated development of the competitive tennis and publictennis in China as the research object. The major research methods used in the thesisare as follows: expert interview, questionnaire, documentation, and mathematicalstatistics. By analyzing the development status and development course of ourcountry’s competitive tennis and public tennis and summarizing the differences andconnections between them, the author concludes the constraints that restrict theircoordinated development, which are: first, the restriction of the socioeconomic factors;second, the influence of personal factor; third, the imperfection of the tennisinfrastructure; fourth, the shortage of the high-level professional tennis coach; fifth,insufficient emphasis on school’s tennis education; sixth, the shortage of the backuptalents of the competitive tennis; seventh, the small population and weak basis ofChinese tennis.The thesis also puts forward several corresponding solutions and suggestions:firstly, the government should try its best to develop economy and strengthen thebuilding of the tennis infrastructure; secondly, people should attach great importanceto the basic function of public tennis and school tennis; thirdly, people should also paymunch attention to the influence of the competitive tennis; fourthly, we are supposedto strengthen the cultivation of the backup talents and pay attention to the children’stennis cultivation.
