Project Management,an important branch of management science,combines the theoretical system of management science and the actual project practice.After decades of development,with the continuous efforts and improvement of experts and scholars from different industries,Project Management has become more and more perfect and formed its unique theoretical system.Also,it has achieved good economic and social benefits on a global scale.The project management of oil industry has been studied for many years,and has been applied in many practical projects.Seismic exploration is the first link of the industry chain of oil industry,the level of project management can obtain long-term and rapid development,scientific and effective management of the project is very important,and the success of schedule management largely determines the level of project management,the focus is reflected in two aspects of the progress plan and control.Based on the framework of the project management theory knowledge system,the paper mainly introduced the theory and method of schedule management with an real case.According to the case characteristics,the paper described how to prepare the project schedule plan and schedule control with the project management tools and techniques.When the project schedule had been formulated,we focused on the project activity decomposition and definition,activity sequencing,resource and activity duration estimating,project schedule plan,the key activities and the critical path of the project can be obtained by project schedule through the Gantt chart and activity-on-arrow network.Calculation of completion probability can be estimated by program evaluation and review technique.The project organization structure can be controlled by program schedule,procedure can be controlled by the data collection,data analysis,early warning and disposition,the key nodes of each activity,focus on the critical path activities of dynamic control;for the overall progress of the project control,using the network diagram to identify problems and analyze the causes and propose solutions to achieve the project schedule deviation using the critical path method,so as to ensure that the final implementation of the overall project planning schedule.Through the study of the development of the plan and the control of the schedule of the DQ8 3D seismic exploration project,it is helpful to improve the level of the progress management of the seismic exploration project.Schedule management level determines whether it can achieve efficient completion of the project,the construction unit to improve the overall economic benefits also played a key role,schedule management will become the key research object for the enterprise profit growth point.
