How The Qualia Exists And The Correlation Between Qualia And The Physical Substrate

Study of contemporary philosophy of mind can't get around the quality problem,which involves the ontological status,the nature and the quality of qualia,and which involves the relationships between qualia and psychological state,physical condition and so on.Because of its particularity,no theory of mind is able to provide a satisfactory explanation for qualia.For example,we can acquire it incorrigibly and know it directly,and it seems clear that it influences our behavior,however,but we can't do a function analysis on it.We can study the corresponding qualia and do some forecast about it through the scientific research of the mechanism of activities of the nervous system,but these scientific research cannot make qualia allowance.It is ineffable,subjective cognitive perspective is needed to capture the existence of it,and there is a gap between physical substance and qualia.With the development of cognitive science,brain science and philosophy of mind,more and more philosophers tend to analysis the world base on the physical doctrine.Such as the dynamic core hypothesis Gerald Edelman puts forward,the study of qualia combined with the quantum theory,etc.The work is important for our cognition and understanding of the psychophysical relation,and it illuminates our thinking about the mystery of its ontological status.Though there is an inviolable explain gap between the qualia and the physical,their relation are stable,maybe there will be a regular between them.Check on the David Chalmers' naturalism dualism scheme,it puts forward a train of thought for us:since we can't explain how consciousness(qualia)comes into being from the physical system,and we can't account it by scientific reduction and functional analysis.So it maybe the very way to see consciousness and qualia as a fundamental,it is the same with physical mater on ontology,they are of the same order-consciousness and physical mater,respectively,is the phenomenal property and the physical property of a more basis reality.Such a scheme has supporting evidence from the theory of science and philosophy of mind.Such as the study of qualia with the combination of quantum theory,make it clear that the concept of qualia and quantum are similar,and the physical and consciousness theory are the same in the level of description.They leave a place for the naturalism dualism scheme.And more,psychophysical type identity functionalism provides a functional account of mental state,in a sense the relationship between the mental and physical is in conformity with the organization invariance principle.Thought from cognitive science and philosophy of mind supports the organization invariance principle and the structural consistency principle,too.Accept qualia as the phenomenal property of the basis reality,then,what is the relation between the phenomenal property and the physical property?This paper argues that supervenience is something reasonable to account for the psychophysical relation.As an essential part of the mental states,qualia and quantum which is also basic part of corresponding physical realization are same on ontology.We can learn more about qualia and the psychophysical relation with the help of relevant quantum theory and from supervenience.This article also argue that,if limited scope,we can learn from supervenience,we can use correlation to refer to the relation between qualia and corresponding qualia through.To this,paper is finished.
