PPS is widely used as the material of filter in baghouse in coal-fired power stations, because of its strong chemical resistance, heat resistance, flame resistance and good textile processing performance. With the introduction of new flue gas emission standards, the amount of baghouse and PPS filter is lager and lager. As a pricey consumables, the recycle of waste PPS is to be an important topic concerned in the field of green.This article is in the context of researching characteristics of PPS, and puts forward a method of recycling waste PPS with naphthalenemonochloride. After devising and processing experimental facility, products recovered of consistent quality are acquired with a series of experiments.Technological parameters are obtained and optimized in the context of changing temperature and time. That lays for pilot production and industrial production.The results show that dissolution ratio crescents with dissolution time extended and dissolution temperature increased. At the same experimental condition, dissolution rate of waste filter is bigger than the new filter. At 218? dissolution temperature for lOmin, favourable condition, not only dissolution rate is good,but also products recovered are of stable performance. Melting points of products recovered conform to the melting points of PPS, and the intensive characteristic peaks of the PPS turning up in infrared spectroscopy shows that products recovered belong to PPS. Otherwise, the experiment result shows that the melting points and thermal stability of products recovered of the new filter and waste filter are all below primary filter, and the higher temperature and the longer time, the lower melting point of the products recovered. Thermal chemical analysis shows that the melting point of new filter is higher than the waste filter. The same, melting point of the products recovered of new filter is higher than the products recovered of old filter under the same condition. That solvent are recycled reduces the cost.A series of experiments show that the routing of recycling for waste PPS with naphthalenemonochloride is feasible and suggests to carry out pilot plant test and industrialization.
