Mixing grinding aid in cement grinding is a simple and practicable way to improve the efficiency of ball mill, and grinding aid plays an important role on the energy-saving and cost-reducing of cement industry. Traditional alcohol amine and inorganic salts grinding aids have inferior adaptability with concrete. The emerging polycarboxylic grinding aid shows a good application prospect, but it has poor enhancement and operability. So we used a simple and without external heat method to synthesize a new polycarboxylic grinding aid. Test results indicate that the grinding aid showed a good grinding and enhanced effect, and it improved the mechanical properties and durability of concrete.This paper first studied the optimal proportion of acrylic acid and modified diethanol amine(DEA), and we found when the mole ratio of 1:0.8(ADD)is most conducive to improving the cement specific surface area and mortar strength. Then HPEG was introduced to ADD molecular, and we studied the effect of ratio and HPEG molecular weight on grinding and enhanced effect. When ADD ?HPEG400=1:0.1(AH), grinding aid have certain grinding and enhancement effect, and AH can improve the liquidity of cement mortar. In order to improve the enhancement effect of grinding aid AH, We choose TIPA compounded with AH. The results showed when the mass ratio of 1:0.3, grinding aid has best grinding and enhancing effect. Finally, we optimized the synthesis process: utilize the heat that release from synthetic process of modified DEA to promote the polymerization reaction, that is, the whole process of synthesis without external heat.Grinding aid AT was introduced into titanium slag cement grinding process, and we found AT can optimize the grain size distribution of cement. AT can improve the mechanical property of cement and compatibility of cement with water reducer. AT showed a good application effect when it was additived to cement product. We found that, mixing AT did not generate new hydration phase, but AT promoted the formation of hydration products. Within the scope of appropriate dosage, grinding aid AT can improve physical and mechanical properties of concrete, and improve the concrete frost resistance, carbonation resistance and sulfate attack resistance.
