GH4169 is nickel-based superalloy with the best comprehensive properties.It has higher yield strength,high temperature strength,good thermal corrosion resistance,good fatigue properties and good fracture toughness,so it is widely used in aircraft engine.However,it is also one of the best difficult to cut materials,so the machining process is hard to procced especially drilling manufacture.There are many severe problem such as high machining temperature,high axial force,chips is hard to exhaust.These problems are not only reduce processing efficiency,increase the machining cost greatly,but also slow the development and application of GH4169 in the field of aerospace.So it is necessary to study futher the drilling temperature,axial force,torque and chip formation in drilling GH4169 superalloy.The study can provide important guidance for improving the machining efficiency of drilling superalloy and give a useful reference value for the difficult-to-cut materials.Firstly,the paper choose the cone grinding principle as a method of establishing twist drill model after the review of twist drill flank face grinding method.Based on the profound analysis of mathematical formula of the cone grinding principle,The paper get the relationship between cutting-tool angle and grinding parameters and set up model of twist drill use Pro/E software.The step has laied a solid foundation for the simulation model.Then,according to the drilling manufacturing principle,Deform-3D software can finish the drilling simulation model after define tool and workpiece material,analysis the friction between tool and workpiece,define boundary conditions,confirm iteration method and chip separation criterion and determine the step size.The data of axial force,torque,drilling temperature and chip deformation can be acquired with the postprocesser.Finally,We can test the accuracy through the experiment in CNC and get the revised machining force formula.After the data analysis,we can get conclusions as following:(1)The axial force and torque increase with the increasing of feed rate,tool diameter and apex angle.The influence of rotational speed is contrary.When the helix andle increase,the axial force decrese and the torque increase.And the influence of rotational speed on axial force is the largest.(2)The temperarure in main cutting edge of twist drill is the highst,secondly is chisel edge and the finally is chisel edge corner.(3)The chip formation of drilling superalloy is serrated morphology,and the rotational speed has the largest influence on it and the feed rate is sencondly.
